Jiri Ban Silam 350g – Wild Himalayan Seeds for Achar and Chutney

Ban Silam 350g from Jiri Foods is a pack of wild Himalayan seeds from the mint family, gathered in the hills of Nepal. Ban silam has a nutty, slightly minty aroma when roasted and is a favorite ingredient in Nepali achar (pickles), chutneys and tomato pickles. The 350g jar is cleaned and ready to roast.

What is ban silam?

“Silam” is the Nepali name for small aromatic seeds from plants in the mint family, and “ban” means wild. In hill villages, the seeds are roasted on a pan until they pop and smell nutty, then ground with tomato, chilli and garlic into achar. They are also sprinkled over salads and rice.
